The best show in town is currently taking place in the hearing room of the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption as we hear evidence of a NSW cabinet minister in 2009 receiving the services of a s-x worker paid for by Ron Medich.

Medich, a millionaire property developer, is currently on bail on murder charges relating to the death of businessman Michael McGurk.

The Commission is looking into whether Ian McDonald, the then-minister for energy, was corrupted by Medich, who at the time owned a group of electrical companies which was pitching for government work.

The evidence is that McDonald, now retired, organised a dinner at the Tuscany restaurant in Leichhardt between himself, departmental officers and Medich and an associate. During the meal, which cost $850 due to McDonald’s wine choices, Medich delivered a long description of the services his company could supply.

Sometime during the night a group of Asian women entered the restaurant and sat at another table. After dinner McDonald selected a woman called “Tiffanie” and went back to the five-star Four Seasons Hotel to have what his evidence will describe as a “remedial massage”.

However, counsel assisting, Geoffrey Watson SC, said “there will be direct evidence of what went on in the room and it is pretty squalid stuff”.

Medich’s associate Lucky Gatellari paid $400 for the hotel room and more for Tiffanie.

The hearing is set down for five to seven days. Will Tiffanie give evidence?
