I’m somewhat… discombobulated. It is already Cup of Tea and a Biscuit Day, but I still feel like A Quiet Lie Down.

I recall my fourth Christmas: first, a quick inspection of the glass of lemonade and slice of fruit cake left for Father Christmas. Yep, all gone. Then burrowing into the pillow case left under the ornament-groaning tree to find the best ever stuffed toy dog: a golden cocker spaniel, actual puppy size, sporting a lime green collar and matching lead. Pure bliss. He was immediately named Princey. Halcyon days.

Yuletide has gone slowly downhill ever since.
