The Glenn Dyer breakdown: It was tennis on Seven versus Nine’s The Big Bang Theory, and the latter won — for at least half an hour last night. Although The Big Bang Theory was not up against Lleyton Hewitt, who played later in the night and gave more than  a million Australians an early morning bed time.

Seven’s tennis audiences won’t be so strong now that Hewitt, the last Australian in the Open, has gone. Hewitt played late, around 10.30pm onwards, and attracted more than 1.3 million people in the five metro markets. After two nights, Seven has already won the week, adding to last week’s big victory.

The Biggest Loser‘s 2012 launch averaged just 897,000 viewers from 7pm to 8pm because of the tennis and the fresh The Big Bang Theory episode on Nine. When ratings really start, The Biggest Loser will find the going tough, especially with Seven stripping My Kitchen Rules for an hour from 7.30pm four nights a week.

Tonight: More tennis on Seven from 7.30pm, Nigella Kitchen on the ABC at 8pm. Don’t forget the Fourth cricket Test against India is in Adelaide this afternoon. Ten repeats Young Talent Time, New Girl and Homeland tonight from 8pm, in case you missed them on Sunday night. Lucky viewers. That’s after The Biggest Loser at 7pm.

FTA: Seven (3 channels) won with a share of 40.2% from Nine (3) on 26.7%, Ten (3) was on 17.2%, the ABC (4) was on 11.7% and SBS (2) ended on 4.2%. Seven leads the week with 39.9% from Nine on 23.9% and Ten on 20.1%.

Main Channels: Seven won with 32.8% from Nine on 20.8%, Ten was on 11.7%, ABC 1 was on 7.8% and SBS ONE ended on 3.2%. Seven leads the week with 31.7% from Nine on 17.1% and Ten with 15.5%. Digital: 7TWO won with a share of 5.0% from GO on 3.5%, Eleven was on 2.8%. The 10 channels had an FTA viewing share of 24.6%. GO leads the week on 4.3% from 7TWO on 4.2% and 7mate on 4.0%.

Pay TV: Seven (3 channels) won with a share of 33.4% from Nine (3) on 22.2%, Ten (3) was on 14.3%, as was Pay TV (200 plus channels). The ABC (4) was on 9.7% and SBS (2) ended on 3.5%. The 15 FTA channels had a viewing share last night of 85.7%, with the 10 digitals on 19.9% and the five main channels on 65.8%. Seven leads the week with 32.8% from Nine on 19.7% and Ten on 16.6%. Pay TV is on 15.1%.

Prime/7Qld naturally won the main channels, thanks to the tennis. 7TWO won the digital channels with 6.4% from GO on 4.3% and 7mate on 3.3%. The 10 digitals channels had a prime time share last night of 27.0%. prime/7Qld lead the week on 41.8% from Win/NBN on 23.7% and will win the week.
