I sing Christmas carols with some friends at a nursing home at the end of every year, and we regularly see something broadly similar to this from many otherwise-unresponsive people. Knowing that there are good neurological reasons for this (even if we don’t fully understand them yet) doesn’t lessen the shivers-down-the-spine reaction and emotional impact of this for us every time…
