Yesterday, while in the House
I missed the man who fears to stoush
He wasn’t there again today
Oh why oh why’d he go away ?

When chinese diners leave at three
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the Hall
I couldn’t see him there at all

Come back, come back, we’re wanting a repeat
Come back, come back, we’ll find a vacant seat

Last night I heard over the air
A tallish man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
Oh why oh why’d he go away ?

Oh indeed, pleeeeeeease, let it be true. Last year when I was in Melbourne for a few days, Peter Costello sat next to me on the 109 tram going down Collins Street. This is a true story.

We’ve been down this road before: Firsty is waiting for The Call.

So Zut, is there any truth in the rumour that you were pressured to give up your seat for him? We know from past experience he wouldn’t have had the guts to directly challenge you for it.

dearest doggest de la luna mio

your faithful and humble acolyte
moi aussie
bows deeply from the waist,
as is the fashion
in this tokyo
town du jour,
in humble recognition
that yea,
while posters may do
for the single diamonds
of your wisdom,
for this entire
string of lucent wit
and layer’d nacre
transforming,
in camera,
irritant
canberra
grit
into jewels
that shine through
the ages,
only the finest
elegantly bound folio
will suffice….
i thee humbly summit
on, yea, the same
bended knees,
both of them,
in full kimono fashion,
for your august consideration,
faithfully yours,
moi aussie en tokio
