We’ve seen plenty of footage of Muslims protesting against the release of a US anti-Islam film in recent days, in Australia and around the world, and in some cases with violence. So it seems a good time to show the other side — that most Muslim Australians love this country, embrace living here, and enjoy a laugh into the bargain. This footage from the crew at SBS show Salam Cafe shows Muslims attending the 2006 AFL grand final in search of dates, to break their daily fast for Ramadan.
The other side of Muslim Australia

The tax-exempt status of all religions should be abolished. It’s time that these anti-science, anti-reason, dictatorial, discriminatory, multi-trillion dollar businesses (and that’s all they are) are brought into line with the societal obligations of the real world. The fate of civilisation may just depend on it. Enough of their bullshit.
I appreciate your effort to show some Muslims as moderate and having a sense of humour. When you have to reach back to 2006 to find anything that illustrates your view that, unfortunately, makes a different point.
Over the last thirty years Australia has been developing very dangerous human beings – young, disaffected males, pumped up with testosterone – and unemployed.
Now, tribalism and religion have been put into the mix.
So, why are we surprised at what happened in Hyde Park last weekend?
It started in the 1980s with youth unemployment. In the sixteenth century they whipped the ‘vagabonds’ from parish to parish until they joined the pirate ships. In the 18th they sent them to Australia at Her Majesty’s expense. What are we going to do with them now? Educate them together with children from other backgrounds and give them employment, or send them to the moon?
They wont be any good as cannon fodder for a nationalist war.
Oh, sorry, there might be tents available on Nauru.
You have said it all unfortunately Wyane, but you forgot to mention the millions we give to religious schools to indoctrinate children with all this rubbish. Taxpayers money is being used to form an Australia where “God’s Law” is overtaking reason at an alarming pace. We may as well be living in the USA or the Middle East the way things are going. Just look at what religion has done to Corey Bernardi as a current case in point. All we get from right wing Christians Muslims and Jews is hate and they reckon they all pray to the same God!
