Turnbull’s NBN survey. Slightly embarrassing email from Malcolm Turnbull to supporters this morning calling on them to fill out a survey to see “what areas in Australia have the worst broadband”. Somewhat ironically, the link was broken (although it appears to be working now).

In a separate glitch, Turnbull also managed to send out the wrong email to his fans this morning, and had to retract it: “At the risk of sending you far too many emails in one day, I am sorry for inadvertently sending you an invitation to a post budget event in May this year. It was a simple error, not a cunning attempt to find out who has a time machine and is able to go to events five months ago,” he (or his red-faced staff member) wrote. Can’t wait for you to be running communications around the country, Mal.
Front page of the day. An odd lead story from the Moreland Leader today about a cat called Justin Bieber … (apparently this quite interesting story about family violence wasn’t sexy enough to make the cover?)

The Atlantic: covering business in a digital world
“What is the way forward for a 155-year old-magazine that once published Emerson and Longfellow? Digital first and last, with ancillary revenue from conferences. The magazine, edited by James Bennet, is still very much in the middle of the conversation, but these days it is prized mostly for bringing luster to digital assets like Atlantic.com, Atlantic Wire, Atlantic Cities, and beginning Monday, Quartz.” — The New York Times
The 2012 Emmy winners
