Seven’s night in metro and regional markets because The X Factor Results and then Winners & Losers blew the other networks away — dominating from 7.30 to 9.30pm. The two programs were first and second nationally and first third in metro markets. End of night.
The X Factor: Results averaged 2.105 million national/ 1.343 million metro/ 762,000 regional viewers and helped Seven nicely after being pushed back a night by the Brownlow Medal affair on Monday night. That in turned boosted Winners & Losers to 1.781 million national/ 1.168 million metro/ 613,000 regional viewers — or around 250-300,000 more than last week when it didn’t have such a strong lead in. Nothing else came near them. Hot Seat (924,000 national/591,000 metro/ 333,000 regional viewers) just beat Seven’s Million Dollar Minute (917,000 national/576,000 metro/ 341,000 regional viewers). Seven News won narrowly nationally, but Nine won the metro markets. In Melbourne, Nine News won 406,000 to 295,000. A Current Affair and Today Tonight continued their slow slide towards irrelevance.
Ten was again weak with its line up fading into loser class. Nine debuted David Walliams’ Big School — it had 1.158 million national/794,000 metro/ 364,000 regional viewers. It will struggle to maintain that audience next week. It’s a bit slow, but let’s give it a week or two.

Losers: Ten’s Recipe To Riches at 7.30pm (681,000 national/481,000 metro/ 200,000 regional viewers). An hour later, Sleepy Hollow (743,000 national/ 524,000 metro/ 219,000 regional viewers). That 62,000 more people turned on an hour later to watch Sleepy Hollow, tells us how far Recipe to Riches has fallen. Its national audience was about what the program had in metro markets first up. Viewers have worked out that Recipe to Riches is a load of concocted rubbish, designed as an hour-long ad for Woolworths.Metro news and current affairs:
