Brilliant.
Shouldn’t that be “Junk Strit Fita” (with the ears over the appropriate vowels)?
Very good cartoon, excellent comparisons.
Anyway, why do we need such high level protection, hasn’t Abbott recently declared we’re very best friends with Japan…and China…and Indonesia.
If anyone needs border protection it’s Indonesia – from straying RAN ships.
Abbott could almost take off himself with those ears. Good stuff.
Been wondering about the figures…. thanks Wes, excellent! So now we know what kissing up to ‘greater’ powers is going to cost – US!
Consumer Affairs won’t be able to step in when something goes wrong either (IF we ever hear about any such thing…. best use of ‘Operational Matters’ during the ‘rein’ I imagine)
Now…
Are reports accurate re:
a) We don’t even know what the final price tag will be – and that depends upon whether we want planes with/without the ‘bugs’ ironed out (?) and whether other countries buy them (??)
b) OZ engineers can’t service these without contractors from elsewhere?
c) These planes can’t even do ‘long haul’ because of payload issues(?)
Seriously? What sort of ‘contract’ did our reps sign?
I’m sure it’s not just Buckethead and his crew that are responsible for this craven/crawling idiocy, but they’re the ones who are about to put OUR name on it.
Sigh!
