Lisa backs up for her second and last go at a million bucks on Million Dollar Minute on Seven tonight after she missed three of the five questions yesterday. Million Dollar Minute easily won the 5.30pm slot with 1.258 million national / 836,000 metro / 425,000 regional viewers. Nine’s Hot Seat was well behind with 1.032 million national/ 661,000 metro / 371,000 regional viewers. It will be another big one tonight for Seven. As a result of the boost to Million Dollar Minute‘s audience, Seven News had one of its biggest winning margins overNine News (Monday to Friday) this year — 178,000 in metro markets. It also helped Seven narrow its losing margins in Sydney and Melbourne, which helped boost the national figure after a small win in Brisbane and the usual big margins in Adelaide and Perth.
The Voice proved to be the difference last night with 2.445 million national/ 1.714 million metro / 731,000 regional viewers. Nine won metro and regional markets and nationally. Ten had a stronger night, beating the ABC clearly into third spot. House Rules fell back with the now usual post reveal slump — it still did a solid 1.874 million national / 1.146 million metro / 728,000 regional viewers. Nine debuted a reworked Farmer Wants A Wife, now transmogrified into When Loves Comes To Town. It is not romantic at all. In fact there was a certain grim-faced determination on the faces of some of the gals. It had 1.293 million national / 868,000 metro / 425,000 regional viewers. Resurrection ended last night on Seven and it beat Love thingie nationally and in regional markets (ironic given that’s where it is set). Resurrection had 1.352 million national / 857,000 metro / 495,000 regional viewers. It is just as silly as When Love Comes To Town. Seven’s Bogan Hunters on 7TWO last night had 554,000 national viewers last night in another standout performance. (Fancy combining When Love Comes To Town with Bogan Hunters?)
Wake Up’s audience jumped by more than 50% in metro markets yesterday — from 26,000 to 40,000. A case of all too late with the program due to be axed shortly.
