A wink to editors of News Corporation titles, desperately searching for a new narrative now the government they backed in isn’t faring too well. If you think it’s been hard for Tony Abbott to sell his federal budget package — which doesn’t miss anyone but the richest — spare a thought for conservative newspaper hacks who have to convince readers to grin and bear the pain coming.
Time for a distraction. Thankfully, there are rabble-rousing students to pick on …
And trivial, ideological beat-ups …
And even all those undeserving, slacker disabled Australians …
Every poll in the land suggests readers of the Herald Sun, The Australian and The Daily Telegraph are as angry about this budget as anyone else. Don’t expect that to be reflected in print.
Ah yes, those revolting peasants can be tiresome. But they can also vote.
“Every poll in the land suggests readers of the Herald Sun, The Australian and The Daily Telegraph are as angry about this budget as anyone else. Don’t expect that to be reflected in print.”
Hopefully it will be reflected in those readers ceasing to buy the rags that endlessly sell their interests out and circulation plummeting. But probably not.
Again, these politicians and their hangers-on, wallowing in this “example of unacceptable Leftist unacceptable behaviour” :- how many of them became “politically active” in their uni daze, enough to do some things they’re not proud of and don’t want people finding out about now?
[And there’s no Opposition members fronting these rallies as happened at Gloria’s “Ditch the Bitch” Tea Party.]
“Political activism”?
Which would be worst? This, or “Hey Mom, look at me. I work for Murdoch!”?
The kid definitely looks like an agent provocateur to me – bang ’em up young, that’s the way.
