An easy, easy win for Seven, thanks to the big audience for the second and final part of the mini-series, Catching Milat. It had 2.224 million viewers last night across the country. It added 70,000 viewers nationally from the debut (2.174 million a week ago) with slightly fewer viewers in the regions and 92,000 more in the metros (1.459 million viewers against 1.367 million a week earlier). House Rules’ whole House reveal (1.807 million) on Seven easily accounted for Masterchef Australia (1.470 million) on Ten and both left Nine’s Reno Rumble well behind on 1.191 million viewers. If it wasn’t for the first State of Origin game on Nine on Wednesday night, Seven would be on its way to a week’s win on the back of last night’s very strong performance.

The final of Eurovision (with Guy Sebastian starring for Australia) did very well for SBS, averaging 729,000 national viewers for the repeat last night and 325,000 for the early morning live broadcast of the final. The prime time audience as larger than the A League soccer grand final. The semi finals on Friday night (661,000 national viewers) and Saturday (881,000 national viewers) also did well. As a result of the solid figures for last night’s repeat, SBS One pushed past the ABC’s main channel which was forced back to fifth spot on the night. But that was only in the metros. In the regions Eurovision didn’t do anywhere near as well and the ABC was a safe fourth. But Seven absolutely streeted the opposition in the regions, on top of the easy win in the metros.

In the morning, Insiders on ABC more than doubled The Bolt Report’s metro audience — 367,000 to 138,000. Nationally Insiders had 540,000 viewers against 223,000 for The Bolt Report.
