An easy win to Seven in both metros and the regional markets. Nine however is looking to the second State of Origin on Wednesday night to win the week for it, as game one did three weeks ago. House Rules easily won the battle of the “reality” programs last night with what can only be called a dominant victory, powered by a huge 711,000 viewers in regional markets to give it 1.797 million viewers. Masterchef Australia managed 1.359 million (but only 276,000 in the regions), While Nine’s Reno Rules averaged 1.251 million national viewers and 355,000 in the regions.

The first part of the ABC’s mini series, The Secret River averaged 1.072 viewers across the country last night including 729,000 in the metros and 343,000 in the regions (which meant it easily beat Masterchef). Insiders easily won the morning chat battle with 524,000 national viewers to The Bolt Report’s 240,000. In the morning, Insiders had 371,000 to Bolt’s 173,000. Insiders remains informative (and opinionated). Bolt remains a lecture, (and opinionated) and viewers are making clear what they want to watch.
