Seven’s night in metros and regional markets last night, with the AFL game between Freo and Collingwood doing the job in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Ten’s move to run two episodes of Masterchef Australia back-to-back pushed it up into second place in the main channels and a very close third in total people, and great demos for the night (and a higher audience than a year ago). In the morning Seven’s Sunrise maintained its gap over Today which has faltered this week and found itself unable to match the caravans over on Seven.

The AFL game on Seven had 853,000 national viewers on the main channel and 7mate, and a further 276,000 on Fox Footy on Foxtel, for a total audience of 1.129 million. And, for the weekend: Go Matildas, go!
