Oh, deary me. Apart from the charming second part of ABC TV’s Kangaroo Dundee, it was a night when not even a sleep could save you from being bored horizontal. It’s enough to make you look forward to the Big Bash tip and run cricket on Ten which starts tomorrow night. The first episode of series two of Kangaroo Dundee had 621,000 viewers — deserved a lot more.

News and current affairs programs again dominated the night’s viewing (until 7.30pm). That again tells us just how weak the rest of night’s programming was. Nine won the metros because of two repeats of The Big Bang Theory and a repeat of the move Little Fockers. Nine easily won the metros and in the main channels in the regions.

Tonight it’s the finale of Fargo on SBS ONE and the special one-off The Weekly on ABC called The Yearly (yuk, yuk).
