My Kitchen Rules’ night again, although the metro and national audience figures were down on a couple of weeks ago of 1.5 million and 2 million plus. Still 1.859 million national and 1.244 million metro viewers was enough to win the night, helped by Seven Year Switch which averaged 1.156 million and a weak-ish 772,000 metro viewers. Seven won the metros and regionals and nationally across the board. Ten pipped the ABC for a solid third.

Nine’s Married At First Sight did better so far as viewers were concerned at second sight last night, lifting to 1.255 million national and 905,000 metro viewers. But that wasn’t much help as it was expended against MKR. Nine was again let down with Reno Rumble which followed straight on: still a black hole and a bigger impact on Nine than the lost cricket days of summer.

The five most watched programs in regional markets were: MKR, 616,000; Home and Away, 459,000; The Chase Australia 5.30pm , 448,000; ABC News, 397,000; Seven Year Switch, 384,000.

In the morning Seven’s Sunrise had its best morning for months, winning the metro breakfast battle with Today, 341,000 to 315,000. Sunrise won nationally, again. Sunrise rising?

Losers: Crappy Married At First Sight did better for Nine, but expended its ratings against MKR — fruitless.
