Nine’s night  in the metros (Seven squeaked home narrowly in the regions) but The Voice dipped to another low. Q&A showed Sunday night’s debate a clean pair of heels so far as the quality of the debate/argument and the pace and interest for viewers. The Voice’s national audience totalled 1.646 million — enough for third nationally, but it was fourth in metros. Something seems to be lacking.

House Rules’ audience dipped after Sunday night’s house reveal, but not too far. It had 1.508 million national viewers, while Masterchef had a solid 1.220 million.

Q&A had 852,000 national viewers (605,000 metro/247,000 in the regions) and out-sparkled Sunday night’s Double D (Dull Debate, not Double Dissolution)  between Mr Turnbull and Mr Shorten.

In the regions, Seven News was tops with 684,000 viewers, with House Rules second on 593,000, Home and Away third with 567,000 and The Chase Australia fifth with 520,000.

At breakfast Sunrise had a narrow (301,000) metro win over Today (297,000) and a bigger national win.
