Nine’s night in the metros, but Seven was an easier winner in the regions, again. And, once again the dominant programs were House Rules with 1.628 million nationally, The Voice, 1.382 million and Masterchef Australia, 1.257 million. That’s more than 4.1 million people tuning in to this trio.

Dr Thorne finished on the ABC with a solid 931,000 for what was an early 19th century Mills and Boone.

In regional markets, Seven News again led the most watched list with 646,000 people, followed by House Rules with 609,000; Nine News, 599,000; Sunday Night, 507,000 and ABC News, 399,000.

In the morning Insiders with 571,000 national viewers on the ABC main channel and News 24 again did very well. Its metro audience again topped 400,000: 403,000 to be exact.

Losers: There was enough on TV last night to give viewers a choice, but if they didn’t like home reno shows, cooking shows or singspiels, then it was a pretty average night. But hey, there was Grand Designs and then two period dramas in a row on the ABC to satisfy those who like a bit of Sunday night dress up.
