Apart from Masterchef Australia, it was a pretty bland night of TV. In fact Masterchef stood out with a very solid 1.517 million viewers and second nationally after third in the metros with 1.122 million. It was again the most watched non-news program

Nine won the metros, Ten won the demos. In the regions, Seven won from Nine with Ten doing very well thanks to Masterchef.

Seven News dominated the regional viewing with 607,000 people, followed by Masterchef with 395,000, Sunday Night was on 384,000, 60 Minutes was on 353,000 and Grand Designs NZ was fifth with 340,000.

Grand Designs NZ averaged 935,000 national viewers on the ABC: the UK original would gather than many viewers in the metro market on an average night. The audience for the second episode of Barracuda dipped, as predicted: 666,000 national viewers against 729,000 a week ago for the debut. Its regional audience held up well: 218,000 against 215,000 a week ago. The second episode showed more promise than the first.

Insiders averaged 550,000 national viewers on ABC and News 24 with Fran Kelly in the chair and Barrie Cassidy having a very well-earned break.
