On Apple Pay
Austin Adams writes: Re. “Apple won’t let us further screw customers, whine billion-dollar banks” (yesterday). Regarding the Apple Pay etc negotations, I don’t get it. PayWave works just fine. It works with my credit card and also with the tiny card tap-and-go (or whatever they call it) from CBA that I have stuck to the back of my iphone enabling PayWave payments that works perfectly. Why this fuss over all these other payment methods?
Pell awaits
Graham Barry writes: Re. “Act II of the divine drama of George Pell” (yesterday). I was intrigued by that incredibly insensitive remark by the minister whose interest was “not piqued” by the torture of aboriginal children in NT. It reminded me of a similar wording in similar circumstances. Of course! “Big George” Pell was unable to summon up an interest in the reports of sexual abuse of children in his suzerainty. Funny that . . .
