The Bachelor was the most watched non-news program in the metros, and the second most watched nationally after Home and Away. The Bachelor though flopped in regional markets where it is still an acquired taste. But the meat market gave Ten another night of tasty demos, even in the regions, especially among young female viewers. And that was a very boring night of TV if you are out of the young female demo.

In the regions Seven News was again the most watched program with 563,000 people, Home and Away was second with 491,000, Seven News/Today Tonight was next with 489,000, The Chase Australia 5.30pm was next with 449,000, and the 7pm ABC News was 5th with 387,000.

From that you might has guessed that Seven was again a solid winner, from Nine and Ten. The Bachelor just doesn’t cut it with regional viewers, which is understandable given that regional viewing is dominated by older demographics (hence Seven’s continuing dominance).
