Former prime minister John Howard’s documentary on the life of his political hero Robert Menzies begins on the ABC this week, but for those who just can’t wait for the two-parter, there are more than a few options to get more Howard on Menzies in your life (yes that is the title). The Menzies Research Centre is hosting an “exclusive cinema preview” of the documentary at the State Library in Melbourne tonight, with a discussion and drinks with Howard himself to follow. At $50, it’s quite the price for something that will be on small screens in less than a week. Howard has filmed hours and hours of interviews with other former prime ministers and luminaries, and the uncut interviews are available to subscribers of The Australian here.
Howard hearts Menzies, and you can too — for $50
Former PM John Howard's documentary on Menzies is just a snippet of the hours and hours of footage that was recorded, now available to The Australian.

I imagine Menzies is rolling in his grave after what Howard did to his Liberal Party.
Insomnia cure for sure. Turn it into a pill and sell it. I’d pay $50 to go as a kind of anthropological investigation i guess. Everything was better during the Ming dynasty and all that stuff. Probably an eyeopener, realizing (again) how bizarre those guys are, and i am sure the young fogies are out in force…
Don’t bother buying a ticket Joe, just hang about near the entrance to the gig as it’s about to start … wait 10 minutes and someone will offer you and anyone else nearby $50 to take a seat in what would otherwise be an empty room.
