It was Seven’s night — a bit closer than Monday night in the metros, but Seven was streets ahead of the opposition in the regions, going away with the top five most watched programs on the night.

MKR won the night easily with 1.82 million national (first in the metros with 1.25 million, and second in regions with 569,000). Married at First Sight again did well for Nine (and seems now to have steadied around 1.5 million national viewers a night). Married had 1.49 million last night with 1.06 million in the metros and 431,000 in the regions. Ten’s I’m A Celebrity managed 1.01 million national (728,000 metro and 283,000 regional viewers). But the big winner on the night was 800 Words on Seven from 9 to 10pm – it averaged a very solid 1.22 million (718,000 metro and a high 510,000 in the regions). That gave Seven the solid win.

In the regions, MKR‘s  569,000 viewers gave up to spot to Seven News with 607,000, while Home and Away was third with 524,000, then came Seven News/Today Tonight with 514,000 and 800 Words was 5th with 510,000.

After Monday’s metro win, Nine’s Today dropped sharply to 263,00 yesterday morning, while Sunrise on Seven bounced nicely to 324,000. Sunrise easily won nationally, 553,000 to 404,000 for Today. Is there something (or someone) currently on Today which is irritating viewers? Today has had a volatile and on the whole weak start to 2017 and viewers don’t seem happy. But they do seem (at the moment) more content with what is on Sunrise.
