The Block did well and True Story with Hamish and Andy did well for Nine, as did the Kath & Kim repeats. The first episode of K&K averaged 863,000 viewers from 9.30pm, the second, 677,000.

Nine won the night — end of story. The Block is showing its usual slow burn. Nothing else though is hot. Tonight though, it’s Mad As Hell and Utopia.

What didn’t do well last night was — are you ready to be shocked? — Yummy Mummies from 9.45pm. Just 392,0000 national viewers watched — many of those were probably horrified family members who tuned into Seven in darkened rooms at the backs of houses. Shark Tank on Ten — heading to the bottom with 605,000 viewers. 

In regional areas, Seven News was tops with 631,000 viewers, followed by Seven News/TT with 536,000, Home and Away was next with 476,000, then The Block with 446,000 and the 5.30pm part of The Chase Australia was fifth with 436,000.

And if anyone is interested, Karl Stefanovic’s This Time Next Year averaged 1.873 million national viewers on Monday night, making it No. 1, just where Karl loves to be, in the limelight, on top and heading for the exit at Today. (Monday’s regional and national data was delayed by techie problems). So Karl, toss out the alarm clock and ignore the reminder calls — you’re getting out of the early morning ghetto that is breakfast TV at long last, after years of trying.
