Another night dominated by underperformance. Nine’s Love Island saw its audience fall to 402,000 from 639,000 on Monday night — a fall of more than a third. And to make it worse the lead in, The Block averaged 1.23 million, so the loss of audience was a massive 66%. Not a good look.
The island flops again. Seven wasn’t left out — Bride and Prejudice had 645,000 nationally and Secret Bridesmaid’s Business had 532,000. Ten managed another good audience for the reveal of The Masked Singer with 1.20 million. But the performance part of show averaged 987,000 — so the tune in was more than 20%. Good in a way, but it means the bulk of the program is underperforming compared to the reveal. Nine won from Seven, Ten and the ABC. The result was immaterial, it was the weak performances of these programs that was interesting.
In regional years another night of the usual suspects with Seven’s 6pm News with 566,000, Seven News/TT with 542,000, Home and Away with 365,000, The Chase Australia 5.30pm with 347,000 and The Block with 338,000.

May this cure the free to air stations of their recent wedding obsession. Getting silly now. And no one needs that sort of drama when actual dramas exist on streaming services.
I wrote to several papers and govt ministers about their appalling betrayal of the people of Australia, who actually care so much about this once beautiful country with its first peoples and incredibly diverse animal and plant diversity, expressing dismay that those who care are now to be jailed, fined, publicly shamed, lampooned, sacked from their jobs and if they don’t have a job; TO LOSE their Newstart or any other benefit they received.
I said,”I am writing as a citizen of New South Wales to express my concern about the Right to Farm Bill 2019.
This Bill was proposed as a measure to deal with Vegans opposing animal husbandry and as such had nothing to do with our Democratic Right to express diss-aproval and to organise others of similar feeling to oppose unfair, damaging or dangerous acts by our governing bodies.
This right to peacefully protest is being undermined by provisions within this bill. Schedule 2 of the Bill, in particular, is a sinister and broad threat to democracy and the right to protest.
It is extremely concerning and worrying that such dubious and immoral manipulation of one issue can be so expanded and twisted to become such a massive attempt to silence our people. When at the same time you permit blatant involvement of large non-government organisations to Lobby our MPs to get what they want – without threats of prosecution.”
And some more but this seemed the crux of it for me. This is terrible and really frightening.
Yours, Pippo
