In March, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced his government had allocated $55 million to community grants to upgrade security at places of worship around Australia.
So we noted with interest the recipient of one such grant recently was Morrison’s own church, Horizon.
According to the federal government’s public grant list, Horizon Church was awarded $110,000 from the Safer Communities Fund, which is intended to help “protect children who are at risk of attack, harassment or violence stemming from racial or religious intolerance”.
Horizon Church’s grant will go towards the installation of 18 fixed security cameras, 13 security lights, video intercoms to three designated areas, two security and alarm systems, and the employment of a security guard at the church.
In the latest round of grants, recipients included synagogues, other Christian churches, an Islamic school in Sydney, and non-religious organisations including a social justice theatre company in Adelaide (where it will be used on a program aimed at reducing racial intolerance).
Oh dear moderation. Not allowed to slag against the sinful practises of a happy clapper church. Sad but true.

This is typical of the Morrison government they have no sense of priority.
They give money to so called churches who don’t pay any taxes, but wont increase the Newstart allowance for people that really need it.
I hope that the people of Australia are very sorry that they put this despicable government into power.
I fear of what they will do next.
They prioritize a church that does no charity work and is considered to be prosperity cult.

How about protecting the children form exploitation by the churches leaders Scummo?
Surely if these organisations expect handouts from taxpayers it is time for them to front up and pay taxes on their income and accrued wealth.
Surely recipients included not just “an Islamic school in Sydney”, but mosques as well as “other churches”? After Christchurch, surely?
Obviously only “Christian” sectarian privilege is deemed to require protection. Remember that scummo never apologised on behalf of us for the Christchurch murders, nor did he even condemn the murderer.
On top of the millions in handouts they all receive by not paying taxes or council rates in the first place, whilst they compete with private businesses in the child care, age care, health and other markets.
Meanwhile the extremists that they indoctrinate roam the streets, and everyone else also has to upgrade security but with no government funding.
