Audiences find a new appetite for MasterChef Australia

It’s a pretty poor state affairs when the standouts last night were flops in House Rules (806,000) and First Dates Australia (482,000) on Seven and a once-fallen-star-given-new-life in MasterChef Australia (1.40 million and the most watched non-news program) on Ten.

Nine had a quiet night, repeating Hamish and Andy’s Perfect Holiday (435,000) and the movie Central Intelligence (371,000).

Seven topped the total people and main channel rankings because of the 1.93 million people who watched the 6 to 7pm hour of news.

For the second morning in a row, ABC’s News Breakfast (354,000/229,000) again finished in front of Today (337,000/226,000) with Sunrise (538,000/310,000) in front.

In the regions, Seven News had 695,000, Seven News 6.30 had 648,000, Home and Away had 426,000, The Chase Australia 5.30pm had 424,000, and 7pm ABC News pulled in 389,000.
