Australians have enjoyed the political gift that keeps on giving that is Tony Abbott for decades. Now, generously, we’re sharing him with the country of his birth.
For British readers unaware of the man who holds the dual titles of Australia’s greatest opposition leader and worst prime minister, Crikey is happy to present a short summary of Abbott’s contributions to public debate in his adopted country.
Climate change

I hope the reference to the buffoon Abbott as “Australia’s greatest opposition leader” was tongue in cheek. Unless the only criteria are sheer negativism and obstructionism, the title is really held by the great, the only, Gough Whitlam.
I heartily agree. It’s not the role of a Leader of the Opposition in a Westminster system to do all he can to destroy the government. Hold them to account, suggest alternatives, point out weaknesses etc, but not constantly abuse.
Whence did this rumour surface that Abbott has expertise in trade? It came as fresh news to me.

Just ignore him. Don’t report him. Any reporting of him whether positive or negative feeds his ego. The fact that I am writing at all will also feed him, but what the hell. If he ever turns up at Toongabbie Light & Power I will set the dogs on him. Well actually I don’t have any dogs, but I do have two cats, hopefully the male cat will piss on him. I know I will.
He’s an oily little Catholic Tick. No brains, no real morality, but a constant noxious pain in the the arse; one that is a vector for nasty diseases such as hatred of the poor, hatred of social and economic justice and hatred of anyone who doesn’t fit the Catholic dogma.
Any one exposed to his bite becomes an irrational gibbering, incompetent idiot, a completely useless member of the society, a society that like Margret Thatcher he believes doesn’t exit.
