This article is part of a series about a legal threat sent to Crikey by Lachlan Murdoch, over an article Crikey published about the January 6 riots in the US. For the series introduction go here, and for the full series go here.

From Murdoch
Lachlan Murdoch’s lawyer rejects Crikey’s attempts to make amends, describing them as “self-serving” and only adding “additional allegations”.
From Crikey
The letters are becoming shorter. Lawyer Michael Bradley, on behalf of Crikey, replies that it appears Lachlan Murdoch “does not wish to resolve this matter”. We state that we agree with Lachlan Murdoch’s own words that “a free media must be dependent on no one for favours”, and censorship in any form “erodes our freedom to know, to be informed, and to make reasoned decisions in our society and in our democracy”.
