Guess rnwho came to dinner at Sambo’s house? According to Sydney media reports yesterday,rnNine’s “interim” boss, Sam Chisholm, has started a private charmrnoffensive among on air-staff.

rnHe rninvited Sydney 6pm newsreader, Mark Ferguson and rnwife Jayne, to his house in Sydney’s North Shore, to help them celebrate their 10th wedding rnanniversary. Also at the party were Peter rnOverton, the 60 minutes talking head, and wife Jessica Rowe (the Ten Network’s rntalking head on the 5pm News), Brian Henderson and wife Mardi.

rnrnMIke rnMunro and wife Lea were there, 60 Minutes gal, Liz Hayes, Ian Audsley (Sam’s rnhatchet man), and Jana rnWendt. A real rnin-crowd. Ferguson must be resting a little rneasier with a recent pick up in the Sydney news ratings, but Mike Munro is widely rnthought at Nine to be Sambo’s pick to replace him.

rnPeter rnOverton and Jessica Rowe are also a tipped to front the Today Show as a “couple.” This is something of a risk, but Sambo wants Today fixed, and fixed rnquickly. The rnonly one missing from Sam’s old circle of on-air talent was Ray rnMartin.
