Just read the article about Con Sciacca being pushed for Mayor of Brisbane. One thing that may run against him would be the fact that he grew up and spent most of his life living in the Redland Shire (in the seat of Bowman) and not Brisbane. He moved within the confines of Brisbane after abandoning the seat of Bowman following an unfavourable re-distribution and an energetic campaign from young Andrew Laming at the previous election meant that some hard work would be required to keep it in Labor hands. He could alway run for the highly prized position of Mayor of Redland Shire.

This may need to be double-checked but I believe in grew up on Mt Cotton Rd, CAPALABA and brought his family up in Birkdale.
