It’s a big day at the Today show today as new EP, Anthony Flannery, takes over the program that’s being comprehensively out done by Seven’s Sunrise.
Flannery was moved from the 6pm News to allow Tony Ritchie to take control of the Sydney news for Nine, but at the same time the Today show was moved from Steve Wood’s control (he’s head of Nine’s Daytime TV) back to News and Current Affairs.
That’s
ostensibly under the control of Max Uechtritz which will give him
something to do now that Tony Ritchie is reporting to Sam Chisholm.
The rationale for the moving of Today
back to News and Current Affairs is because the program is going to be
harder and more “newsy” – an idea that was rejected a year ago when it
failed to make a mark on Sunrise.
