Newspaper boys of
the old school can’t resist a bit of a dig at our comrade colleagues. So it came
to pass that when the Herald Sun launched its excellent Business Daily lift-out
section yesterday, John Beveridge’s Fully Frank column included a circa 1976
photo of “mysterious Age business columnist Christopher Webb” who had taken to
hiding behind a silhouette in The Age Business section.
Not to be outdone by
Beveridge’s reference to Webb’s “Christopher Skase-inspired hairstyle,”
Webb’s Strictly Private column today included a
none too flattering shot of Sunday Herald Sun editor Alan Howe with his
troops at Clicks Bar in 1991.
It’s time for
truce before this gets down to the last hair standing.
