It was all health and all Rudd v Premiers for the whole week, Colin Barnett unsurprisingly the main mover into the Top Ten and John Brumby sliding into an easy second place with almost half as much coverage as the PM, as Tony Abbott wheeled in another two places lower.
Six premiers in the top eleven and Joe Hockey the only Federal shadow to make the list, with Peter Dutton snaffling a grand total of 125 media mentions compared to Nicola Roxon’s 3,574. You’d almost think the Opposition would prefer to talk about something else — there’s no manning the barricades on this one.
Nick Xenophon the other main mover as he gets stuck into the ATO and their computer difficulties, while Wayne Swan continues to keep his head down before his big moment in the sun in a couple of weeks.
Again all Rudd, but it seems thirteen hours in an unnecessary traffic jam can also make people a tad grumpy.

Within two days Carl Williams’ killing in gaol has received as much coverage as John Brumby received for the whole week, with it all seeming far too much like something out of Oz, and that’s not the one with the scarecrow.
