This anonymous message on the debate over the Greens and our voting
system deserves a run after all the partisan pieties of recent days:
“Funny how the Greens whinge about losing an election even with a
higher primary vote and yet are deathly silent about the Cunningham
By-election, which the Greens won with 23% primary vote and the ALP
lost with 45% primary vote. The hypocrisy is breathtaking.
“As for all their talk about proportional representation, I can’t
recall the Greens complaining when at the 98 Federal election, One
Nation got 8% of the Nation’s vote yet only got 1 Senator elected. The
Greens were a bit silent about that.”
Snigger!
