The battle for the hearts and minds – let alone souls – of the NSW
Liberal Party is reaching new levels of intensity. It’s not just the
usual phone calls and letters. Full colour brochures are appearing in
the campaign for the state executive. Functions are being held to lock
in votes.

When the dust settles and the new team is installed, however, what will
it all mean for the party? The NSW Liberals have a bright, capable and
polished leader in John Brogden. He’s young and enthusiastic. And
there’s also every chance that he will sabotaged by his own rank and
file that’s obsessed by its own causes and who put playing
politics ahead of politics itself.
