We’ve been keeping a close eye on Kim Beazley’s daughter Hannah and her website https://www.twosittingducks.com since her dad regained leadership of the Labor Party.

It was looking as though Hannah and the site’s co-author (her fiance Andrew Canion) had been effectively gagged in order not to divulge any potentially embarrassing or damaging details from within Beazley HQ. Until now, that is.

Hannah, busy preparing for her wedding, broke her silence on the issue of federal politics last week when someone calling themselves Aaron posted: “Funny how the federal political rhetoric has died down since Daddy got the top opposition job. Then again, I wouldn’t want the papers publishing details about my blog again and embarrassing Daddy either.”

Hannah fired back: “Aaron, thank you for so courageously hiding behind anonymity when you decide to make a slight on me/my father/this site … This was never intended to be a political blog. It’s a blog of our daily life. Sometimes politics comes into it, sometimes it doesn’t. Believe me, being published in the SMH was not embarrassing for me or my father. We have gone through A LOT worse. You don’t have a grasp on political life if you think that’s as bad as it has gotten or will get. Of course I am careful of what I say. I have always had to be. And I’d be pretty bloody stupid and inconsiderate if I didn’t.”

Apart from online catfights, Hannah Beazley and Andrew Canion do provide observations on their upcoming nuptials. Apart from the usual groom jitters and Hannah up to her neck in organising the grand affair, it appears Kim’s new job is also having an impact. Hannah writes: “Kim Beazley has NO time on his hands. He can’t even be at my wedding rehearsal and the bloke’s walking me down the aisle!”
