It’s rare for me these days that an artist comes along whose career existed mostly before my time, writes Crikey music editor Justin Stanford. Jim Keays is just such an artist and it has been a great joy to discover his work from the Masters Apprentices, as well as some later works on his album Resonator.

Masters Apprentices were the biggest band in the land in their time and at the height of their fame sold out Australia’s largest venues. This week’s free download features Jim Keays’ smokey vocals on the deep southern grooving track, “Waiting For The Big One”.
