Quote of the day:
“Stop demonising the mining industry [that has] at least as great a love for this country and a care for its indigenous people as you will ever have.” — Fresh from a family holiday, Fortescue Metals chief executive Andrew Forrest yesterday took a swipe at Greens leader Bob Brown — who could well hold the balance of power in the Senate in the near future — urging him to get out of his “huge Parliament House office.”
He also slammed the “secret” and “sinister” mining tax compromise forged 21 days ago between the federal government and BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto and Xstrata, adding he was still waiting for a beer from Wayne Swan and “I am getting thirsty”.
“Julia Mostly but also Kevin and Tony’s Campaign Crikey Morning Edition” is a more descriptive title. Rough count Julia 23 mentions, Kevin and Tony 12 each, 5 other canditates (including Stephen Mayne) get one look in. Apart from the forlon woman awaiting Kevin in the SMH, a similar lack of acknowledgement of any more than about 4 people contesting this election there. Maybe we could save the taxpayer half a billion dollars or so and only have 4 candidates in these elections. On present media performance, I don’t think anybody would notice.
Only have one thing to say to that quote from twiggy, and that is “Bullsh*t”
And Wayne, I’d be giving him a used beer.
Meski
Its not complete bullshit.
Twiggy loves the little bits of this country that he can dig up and sell.
And he will care for our indigenous people if it helps him be allowed to dig up and sell the bits of Australia he loves so much.
