Big week for the Member for Wentworth, Malcolm Turnbull, and wife Lucy, Sydney’s former Lord Mayor.
Peter Costello will formally open the Wentworth electorate office tomorrow – so stand by for leadership spin. And Lucy? Well, here’s a press release from the Sydney Cancer Centre that crossed our desk yesterday:
Australia’s largest integrated cancer research and treatment centre, the Sydney Cancer Centre at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA), is asking people to come to work or school on Friday May 20th with a mad, wacky or outrageous hairdo and donate a gold coin to help support the 700 patients it sees each day.
People everywhere are doing their bit to make Wacky Hair Do Day a success. The Sydney Cancer Centre Foundation’s Principal Sponsor Telstra, in conjunction with Telstra Friends, Australia’s largest corporate volunteer group, will set up a Wacky Hair Do ‘salon’ in the foyer of its 231 Elizabeth Street headquarters.
Celebrity hairdresser, Joh Bailey, will style the locks of Australian Idol stars, Barry Southgate, Chanel Cole and Daniel Belle, in addition to those of the former Lord Mayor, Lucy Turnbull, and the glamorous Katherine Keating.
Keatings and Turnbulls and Australian Idol stars? Truly bipartisan support. Obviously a worthy cause.
