Quote of the day:
”I’m a taxpayer. I’m a law-abiding citizen and I want to be able to say to that woman that I love: ‘Will you marry me?’ Not ‘Will you civil-union me?”’ — One of the more vocal ‘undecideds’ presses Prime Minister Julia Gillard on the legal definition of marriage being between a man and woman at last night’s forum at the Rooty Hill RSL.
The post-forum secret ballot of the 200 voters present came in at 35.5% to Abbott, 30% to Gillard and 34.5% undecided. But what about the 39,000 Daily Telegraph readers who voted? Abbott 74 to Gillard 26. Game on.
Given the total ratings for Rooty Hill meeting on Sky were 65k it’s fair to say that 99% of the Telegraph readers who voted were neither there not saw it on TV so 3:1 Abbott:Gillard just reflects voting preferences of Tele readers which we could have ascertained through a poll which asked who they preferred as PM. Rare #fail to Crikey for not realising this.
RH Sky rating 95k not 65k but my point still valid.
Well how many Telegraph readers who have access to Sky could be bothered watching anyway?
