One of the legends of Australian financial
journalism is retiring this Friday. Robert Gottliebsen, “Breathless
Bob” to those in TV who watched his career at the ABC, Sky and various
other outlets, finishes up this week with a function to be held at the
News Corp offices in Melbourne.
Bob had a distinguished career at The AFR, launching the daily Chanticleer column; was the creator and founding editor of BRW; and has worked at The Australian since leaving BRW in early 2000 after a falling out with management at Fairfax.
We wish him well in retirement.
