It is being reported that Leslie Nielsen has passed away, aged 84.
While best known for his work in films like Airplane!, and The Naked Gun, Nielsen has made a significant contribution to television. With appearances in Hawaii Five – O, Columbo, M*A*S*H*, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Golden Girls, and Due South, Nielsen was responsible for a number of well-remembered performances on the small screen.
Leslie Nielsens greatest contribution to television was as Det Lt Frank Drebin in the comedy classic Police Squad. It may have only lasted six episodes, but the show continues to look innovative today 28 years after its cancellation.
