After years of torpor, things
finally seem to be happening in the Victorian Liberal Party. First, a
special commendation to the former member for Waverly Province, Maree
Luckins, for her pre-selection coat trailing at the weekend. Some day a
new seat will come along – any seat. Please! A mention in dispatches,
too, for the efforts of Jenny Matic, friend of powerbroker David Davis
and part of the Ted Bailleau team.
Less public was the
“emergency” administrative council meeting to investigate membership
applications for – you guessed it – Scoresby. Under changes to the
Victorian Liberal Party constitution, an automatic quarantine swings
into action if it looks like a stack is on in a branch, until Admin can
examine the situation. This was the second Scorseby investigation in as
many months. The “Young Turks’ challenging Kim Wells seem to have come
out on top this time.
