so Charlie Sheen goes bananas and Ricky Gervais gets sh*tcanned? How does that work? Ooh ‘e’s such a naughty boy that Ricky “I warned ’em” – gold
Whether he went too far or not is not really a worthwhile question. I just dont think that the humour is all that great or clever. It’s the sort of humour that you would see at an open mike night at a comedy club.
Gervais’ style of ‘humour’ is based on attacking others. He laughs at; not with.
He belittled Brit comedian Lenny Henry;-he had Jamie Oliver clearly hurt by comments he made directly to him.
I will never understand the appeal of someone who is laughed at because he attacks others,-no matter who they are.

Yep. I DO loathe him. I loathe what he has brought to comedy.
I dont think he went too far; what I saw & heard makes it harder to comprehend the outrage I read in the papers this morning…sure there were people groaning or what have you, but plenty of laughter and shots of people enjoying it. They knew what they were getting when they hired him, and they’e got exactly what they wanted…people talking about the awards show once its over.
