Jana Wendt was in the Sunday chair yesterday as the countdown continues towards the program’s re-emergence as a soft, lovable Sunday morning talk show.
Friday’s studio rehearsal saw sports reporter Stephanie Brantz mentioned. She was hired from SBS and was presenting their World Sports program as late as last Thursday evening. There’ll be a newsreader (Kelly Sloan) and two hosts, Ross Greenwood and Ellen Fanning, with Fanning the more senior.
CEO Eddie McGuire was in Adelaide on Friday for the Collywobbles game against Port Adelaide and refused to comment on speculation about the future of network star Jana Wendt.
“The Sunday program is being retooled at the moment, and you’ll see a show that when you turn on at 9 o’clock on a Sunday morning you’ll get everything that you need to,” Eddie told News Ltd media in Adelaide. “You know it’s there, you know the quality, you know the integrity, you know what the background of these programs are, but they’re going to deliver in a relevant, 2010 form hopefully as quickly as possible.”
So Eddie knows what will be needed in 2010: is that what they mean by being forward thinking?
