The Landeryou saga continues unabated, with SOB’s (Son of Bill’s) Melbourne Supreme Court appearance tomorrow likely to be a standing-room only affair. Solly Lew process servers have been chasing SOB around Melbourne, while student hacks from across the political spectrum are queuing up to catch a glimpse of the “invisible man” whose long-term notoriety is now assured.

Meanwhile, a new website authored by Landeryou himself has popped up promising a “warts-and-all” account of the last few years of his life. Since its debut yesterday morning, SOB has already dished out sprays to former business partners Solly Lew & Evan Thornley, Lew right-hand-man Michael McCleod, liquidator Dean McVeigh, The Age and even poor old Crikey.

SOB has also reprised his infamous hatred of the Melbourne Uni Left while suggesting (not very persuasively) that the meeja has it all wrong over Lew’s $4 million IQ Corp investment. Landeryou also appears to have “done a Wolfowitz” and turned neo-con, quoting Ronald Reagan glowingly and describing him (non-ironically it would seem) as a “freedom fighter” and “trade unionist” (air-traffic controllers notwithstanding, presumably). Even more disturbingly, he seems to be ending most of his sentences with the line “game on” from cult 90s movie Wayne’s World. This correspondent would advise his lawyer Rob Stary to proceed directly to his client’s 29th floor Kavanagh Street refuge before the cabin fever becomes terminal.

The Landeryou effort follows another bizarre addition to the web, which is mysteriously threatening to publish the MUSU story that “Melbourne’s media, academic elite, political commentariat and labor apparatchiks won’t…” courtesy of former MUSU President and SOB acolyte Darren Ray. We can’t wait, but in the meantime, we’ll just have to keep and eye on the web in the lead up to Landeryou’s court appearance in 24 hours time.

I’m kicking myself today after this email from Andrew Landeryou landed in the inbox at 11.46am yesterday:

Hi Stephen, congratulations on recent success and I refer you to my blog which is andrewlanderyou.blogspot.com. I will eventually include a response to some of the recent Crikey comment about me and look forward to an exchange on related issues.

Andrew

The Ageand the Herald Sunboth had the story this morning of Landeryou’s internet counter-attack and it sounds like the lad is promising all sorts of fireworks.I’ve had no dealings with Landeryou before so we’re not in his camp and Solly Lew is no friend, having declared at the 2002 Coles Myer AGM, “As you know Mr Mayne, I don’t subscribe to your rubbish.” Sounds like this could be won for Crikey’s Las Vegas division – we’ll host ya fight.
