well if i was with my girl and there were riot police with batons and such lining up in front of you i would be getting as far away as possible from the confrontation, not standing in the front line…. i think the pic is the pic of the year though
Coming to a plaza near you some time soon. Thugs, morons and,monkeys are joining up en masse so they can hurt unarmed people. The brave new world is here now! The criminals who are running the show were out of line, Harper was out of line, The Toronto Police Corporation was out of line and all need to be held to account. Not one attendee spoke out to defend the rights of people to assemble. I remember this crap in Melbourne a few years ago – not as bad but on the way. These demonstrations will get more violent and more bloody as people realise what is happening in Western Democracies to our rights and feedoms as human beings. Shut up and go back to sleep everyone…you government has got everything under control. Go back to sleep!
I looked at the relevant parts of the video about five times and couldn’t see any evidence of batons being used to hit her deliberately or at all. No doubt she got hurt getting tangled up with a charging policeman’s heavy gear but the suggestion that she was deliberately attacked by the police wasn’t supported by anything I could see. I have no doubt of the potential for violence of young men (mostly) anywhere and police when geared up for riot control too, but if I had to choose between the probability that the police deliberately beat her up with their batons while doing whatever they were doing in Vancouver that day and the probability that a participant in a protest riot would make things up afterwards to assist whatever cause he or she was involved in, then my money would be on the latter.
According to a couple of newspaper reports I have just read it wasn’t a protest rally but a football crowd rioting but my comparison of probabilities remains substantially unchanged because the allegedly opportunistic boy friend who is on one report portrayed as seeking to cash in on the kiss picture having gone around the world is reported as only saying the police shields hit his girlfriend. So, no big deal about police violence – not this time anyway.
Well, Rufus, I wouldn’t want you as a witness in any trial of mine! The cop on the right charges in and assists in knocking them to the ground with his shield and then CLEARLY KICKS THEM TWICE! You must be stooge for the right wing parties, etc, etc. As an experienced video creator with years of acting teaching under my belt, there is clear and obvious footage and imagery in this video of movement and actions of aggression on the part of the police involved. And being the son of a cop, and one who has been involved and still involved with ongoing police prosecutions of criminals in Victoria, I know exactly what the cops are capable of – both good and bad. Look at the movements of both cops on a high definition screen and you will see their movements for what they ARE! Deliberate actions to stop the couple from moving.
