The real question is, was the bird a reincarnation of Alfred Hitcock? Bit of work to do in creating the mood, I think.

From my experience of the Atlantic gulls, and digicams, you’re right both times. Those gulls are like small sea eagles, and would thrash the local Pacific gull in a beak-to-beak – but there must be some reason for the big difference in size.
No idea what that reason might be, but just be glad they aren’t anywhere near us. They’d terrorise the local surfing beaches, and picnickers.
