Since the 1996 election your dominance as leader of your party has been absolute.

You
have been a disciplined political opportunist, a master of your brief,
a face on all our TV screens, a skilled media performer.

Even
when the commentariat has attacked you viciously – and you have been
reviled and dismissed – you never dropped the ball. In the face of
strong opposition you continued to doggedly chip away at your
highly-focused policy agenda.

You are a consummate politician
and also an unabashed ideologue. And after ten years at the helm,
you’re showing no sign of slowing down or wanting to hand over the
reins of leadership.

Regardless of whether you’re loved or hated, your political determination is beyond dispute.
